The Need for Affordable Housing

A critical shortage of affordable housing for low and moderate income families exists in both the Española Valley and Los Alamos Area. In Española alone, there are over 600 families on the waiting list for low income housing. Elderly and disabled homeowners, single-head-of-households, and those who cannot perform necessary home repairs themselves, need assistance. For these families and others like them Habitat for Humanity's primary goal is to give a hand UP.
